You Are Your Pet's Best Advocate
Thank you for being a member of my Roaring For Raw community. I hope you continue to learn within the membership area and private group... from getting a foundation in animal naturopathy, how to feed a prey model raw diet, and how to go even further with their lifestyle beyond diet.
As you learn, it is all up to you. I can only give you the information, it's up to you to implement it and to use it to help you make decisions regarding your pet's health. You are their best advocate.
In my clinic, I see my clients as people who have hired me as someone on their pet's health care team. If they don't like something that I do or recommend, they are welcome to ask me questions about it or choose not to do it. Deep down I wish I could convince everyone to feed a raw diet because my patients on raw are the healthiest dogs and cats I know, but it's their pet and their choice. The same goes with your vet. If your vet doesn't understand the benefits of a raw diet or makes you feel guilty in any way for choosing natural options for your pet, find one who does. If your boarding facility is requiring vaccines every year or won't accept titers or a waiver, find one who does. If your grooming facility doesn't use natural shampoos and also refuses to use any you bring in as a healthier option, find one who will. The most important part of being your pet's best advocate is that you are putting your decisions about their health first. Don't be afraid to stand up for them and don't be afraid of saying no to something that you are uncomfortable with.
If you have any constructive feedback for me regarding my membership area, please send it to info@roaringforraw.com. I am always looking for ways to improve and appreciate you taking time to give me feedback.
If you think you need further help specifically for your pet, I have consults available. As long as you are a member, you also can come on to any of my live sessions in my private facebook group.
Lastly, if you are on facebook, be sure to "like" my page, Roaring For Raw to keep up with my raw feeding and animal naturopathy based posts. If you'd also like to keep up with my animal chiropractic posts, "like" Vitality Animal Chiropractic.
Thank you again for taking the steps into learning in order to provide your dog or cat a healthier, happier life!
Warmly,
Dr. Erin O'Connor
